William R. Blair
Chief Executive Officer

Bill has more than 30 years experience in software design, engineering, manufacturing and sourcing. Much of his early career was spent working for GE, eventually being named Vice President of North American Supply Chain consulting. While at GE, Bill created the GE Trading Process Network, the first Internet Real-Time Auction System for industrial buyers. This innovation was pronounced a corporate "Best Practice" and was adapted by multiple divisions throughout GE. Later, as General Manager of Industrial Control Services, Inc., Bill developed a number of patented technologies for fire protection and gas management.

In 1999 Bill joined FreeMarkets and helped build it into a world leader in technology-based sourcing. He became FreeMarkets' Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and was involved in everything from developing new customer relationships, to creating new products and revenue streams.  Bill later founded Co-eXprise as the next quantum leap in supply chain and commodity sourcing.
